Disney World Theme Park Guide

The Magic Kingdom
The original Disney theme park opened its doors to the public for the first time in 1971. Over three decades later and the Magic Kingdom is still the most visited of the Disney parks, enchanting children and adults alike with its vision of a place where dreams come true.
The Magic Kingdom consists of five distinct lands which come to meet at the top of Main Street USA, in front of the iconic symbol of Disney World, Cinderella Castle. The five lands are Tomorrowland, Fantasyland, Frontierland, Liberty Square and Adventureland.
A must for first timers at Disney World, the Magic Kingdom is where it all started. Home to some of the parks most loved attractions including Space Mountain and It's a Small World, a visit to the Magic Kingdom is only complete with the spectacular nightly fireworks display, a dream spectacle if ever there was one.
Epcot
Epcot or the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, opened its doors to theme park lovers for the first time in 1982, almost a decade after the original opening of the Magic Kingdom. Centered around the Spaceship Earth symbol, an instantly recognisable sparkling geosphere, Epcot is themed on technology and the advances of the world.
Epcot is made up of two main areas, known as Future World and World Showcase. The first consists of revolutionary 3D rides such as "Honey I Shrunk the Audience" and "Mission Space" while the latter is a microcosm of the world, focusing on the cultures and ways of life of 11 different countries. No visit to Epcot is complete without the night spectacular known as IllumiNations, with lasers and firworks celebrating another Disney dream vision.
Disney MGM Studios
Disney's very own take on Hollywood and the movies culminated in the opening of Disney MGM Studios in 1989. With epic symbols like the "Earffel Tower" and 122ft tall "Sorcerer's Hat", MGM Studio's huge 135 acres are packed with all elements of television and the movies.
Highlights such as the "Twlight Zone Tower of Terror", "Rock 'n' Roller Coaster" and "Star Tours" provide fast paced and exciting rides for visitors of all ages. This combined with the spectacular finale of lasers and animation known as "Fantasmic!" bring the golden era of Hollywood back to life- Disney style!
Animal Kingdom
Disney's very own take on the wonders of the animal world were brought together with the opening of the Animal Kingdom in 1998. Consisting of just over 500 acres, the park is home to over 1700 animals and 250 species in total, mixing the ideas of a zoo, a safari and a theme park all in one.
At the centre of the park is the Tree of Life, a 145ft work of art consisting of over 300 different animals carved into the tree's trunk. The highlights of any visit include a ride on the "Kilimanjaro Safari", the "Maharaja Jungle Trek" and the "Kali River Rapids"- not for the faint hearted!
